However, close contact is now encouraged, with orangutans trained to grab women\u2019s breasts and men\u2019s crotches, along with posing for group photos; activities they do for hours on end, despite naturally being shy, solitary animals. Disease transmission between humans and orangutans also puts both animals, and people, at risk. In the background we see the Three Wise Monkeys - see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil - characters that are supposed to symbolise ethical behavior and morality. Yet is mankind turning a blind eye to abuse in the Wildlife Tourism Industry? In 2004, over 100 orangutans were confiscated from Safari World after DNA tests proved they were being brought illegally from Indonesia, rather than being bred there as claimed by the venue. However, within a few years, Safari World acquired more orangutans and the shows started all over again.In order to supply Wildlife Tourism Attractions, orangutans are stolen from the wild, their mothers killed in the process. They are then smuggled across international borders, and are trained using cruel methods, such as beatings and food deprivation, rendering them submissive to their handlers.
